About Me
Hello! I’m Angela Blackwood, and I’m so glad you’re here!
My Story
For over two decades, I’ve worked in Information Technology. It’s a field that is both exciting and demanding, filled with the thrill of innovation and the relentless pressure of high-stakes deadlines. While I enjoy many aspects of my work, the reality is that it often requires long hours and leaves me feeling drained and disconnected from the things that truly matter.
Do you know that feeling? The one where you’re so depleted that you lose the desire to even do the things you enjoy? When your tank is so empty, that there’s nothing left to give to your loved ones? It’s a feeling I became all too familiar with. Despite my professional successes, there was always a part of me that longed for something more… a deeper connection, a sense of inner peace that seemed just out of reach.
The Turning Point
It was this inner whisper that set me on a journey of self-awareness. I realized that it didn’t have to be this way. I didn’t have to resign myself to a life of perpetual exhaustion and burnout. There was another option… a path that leads to greater fulfillment, balance, and inner peace.
My Path to Balance
Through my own journey of self-discovery, I’ve found a way to navigate the demands of my career with grace and resilience. By incorporating mindfulness practices into my daily life, I’ve learned to cultivate a sense of calm amidst the chaos, allowing me to show up fully for myself and those around me.
Our Shared Journey
Now, I’m on a mission to share what I’ve learned with others who may be feeling lost or overwhelmed in their own careers. Together, let’s explore how we can reclaim our sense of purpose, find balance, and rediscover the joy that comes from living with intention. It’s a journey worth taking, and one that holds the promise of a brighter, more fulfilling future for us all.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have a busy schedule. How can I incorporate mindfulness into my routine without adding more pressure?
Mindfulness can be integrated into your daily life in simple, easy ways, such as taking a few moments in your workday to notice your breath, or paying attention to your feet and legs as you walk from one place to another. These practices can be tailored to fit your schedule and preferences, allowing you to reap the benefits of mindfulness without adding extra pressure.
Will mindfulness really make a difference in how I feel and function at work?
Yes! Mindfulness can lead to improvements in workplace performance, including increased focus, productivity, and job satisfaction. By reducing stress and enhancing emotional regulation, mindfulness can help individuals better manage work-related challenges and cultivate a positive work environment.
Will practicing mindfulness require me to make significant lifestyle changes?
Mindfulness can be integrated into your existing lifestyle in flexible and adaptable ways. While some individuals may choose to incorporate regular formal meditation sessions into their routines, others may prefer informal mindfulness practices that can be done throughout the day. The key is to find what works best for you and aligns with your values and priorities.
How can mindfulness practices help me manage stress and anxiety in my daily life?
Mindfulness practices, such as meditation and deep breathing exercises, have been shown to reduce stress and anxiety by promoting relaxation and increasing awareness of the present moment. Studies* have demonstrated their effectiveness in lowering levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, and improving overall well-being.

I've tried meditation before, but I always seem to get distracted or feel restless. How can I overcome this?
Distractions and restlessness are common experiences in meditation, especially for beginners. With practice and patience, you can learn to acknowledge and gently redirect your attention back to the present moment without judgment. Techniques such as focusing on the breath or using guided meditation apps can help cultivate concentration and relaxation. And remember, you don't have to spend hours in meditation to receive the benefits. Start small!
I'm skeptical about spiritual aspects often associated with mindfulness. Can I still benefit from practicing it without delving into spirituality?
Mindfulness can absolutely be practiced in a secular, non-religious context, focusing solely on present-moment awareness and self-reflection. Many mindfulness programs and resources are grounded in scientific principles and do not require adherence to any particular spiritual beliefs, making them accessible to people of all backgrounds
